CX5, MX5, CX70, and CX30 deliver strong Q1 momentum; Mazda earns eight 2026 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards

RICHMOND HILL, ONApril 1, 2026 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) reported March sales of 5,563 vehicles, a 23.1 percent decrease versus March 2025, with year‑to‑date sales of 15,153 units, down 8.4 percent year‑over‑year.

March marked the arrival of the allnew 2026 CX5 at Mazda retailers across the country, introducing the third generation of Mazda’s best‑selling model with more utility, evolved Kodo Design, and the most standard safety features of any Mazda model in Canada.

In the same month, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) released the 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick awards, and for the third consecutive year, Mazda vehicles once again rank among the safest on the road, earning eight 2026 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards, the most of any automotive brand.

MARCH 2026 AND Q1 HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Allnew 2026 CX5 began arriving in showrooms; CX‑5 sales rose 8.7 percent in March and are up 20.0 percent year‑to‑date.
  • MX5 surged with early spring demand, up 182.5 percent in March and 59.8 percent for Q1.
  • CX70 set a new March benchmark, up 4.0 percent for the month and 40.0 percent year‑to‑date.
  • CX30 posted strong Q1 growth of 21.4 percent.
  • Mazda earned eight 2026 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards, the most of any brand.
